Catching up with Jackie Dallas – Proud Short Film

Last year we wrote about the PROUD Short Film created, produced and directed by Asian American actress Jackie Dallas. Since then, PROUD (www.proudshortfilm.asia) has been chosen to be screened at numerous film festivals both in the U.S. and internationally. It is also the proud recipient of “Best Short Film” award from the Independent Talents Film Festival. By now, most of us have heard of the movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. At its heart, a modern day love story based on the popular book with the same title, by Singaporean-American author Kevin Kwan, and directed by Asian American filmmaker Jon M. Chu. What’s unconventional about this Hollywood studio backed American film is that it features an all-Asian cast.
