Reyaz BEIGH

Position: Senior IT & Systems Architect
Location: Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India

With experience of 10+ years in Custom Software Development. The systems that Reyaz has developed has helped Companies (Including Fortune 500) to generate Millions. Robust Algorithm design and implementation are the core of any data driven application and that has been a combination of his primary strengths.

Reyaz first joined DotAsia in 2019 and played a major and leading role in the development of an ENUM-backed system to assist a government initiative to modernize their telecom industry’s SIMM card registry system.

Reyaz holds a B.Sc in BioTechnology and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology.

Rebecca CHAN

Position: Finance & Compliance Officer
Location: Hong Kong, China

As the Finance & Compliance Officer, Rebecca Chan oversees the policy compliance of the .Asia registry and registrars, as well as the financial operations of the DotAsia Organisation. Rebecca is also the liaison with ICANN and registrars on accreditation and billing processes.

Rebecca has been working in the domain name industry since 1999. Before joining DotAsia, Rebecca worked as an executive of an ICANN Accredited Registrar. Prior to that, Rebecca was the Corporate Resource Manager at a domain registration solutions provider specializing in IDN technologies.

Rebecca has a B.A.Sc. and a M.Eng. degree from the University of Toronto.

Leona CHEN-BIRKNER

Position: VP of Registrar Relations
Location: Vancouver, Canada

Leona Chen-Birkner is the Vice President of Registrar Relations, and a key member of the team that launched the .Asia web presence since 2006. She manages sales and marketing relationships between DotAsia Organisation and ‘.Asia’ domain channel partners. Leona is also involved actively involved in marketing initiatives aimed to promote .Asia to Asian communities worldwide.

Prior to joining DotAsia, Leona worked extensively in various government and technology organizations in Canada and Japan. She started her career with IBM Canada and later with JENS Corp, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group in Tokyo where she handled corporate affairs. Leona speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese. She holds a ‘Collaborative Master’s Degree in Asia-Pacific Studies’ from the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy in the University of Toronto.

Leona calls Vancouver, Canada home. She has also lived in Rochester, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Toronto.

Jennifer CHUNG

Position: Director of Corporate Knowledge
Location: Hong Kong, S.A.R.

Jennifer Chung is the Director of Corporate Knowledge for DotAsia Organisation. She was an appointed member on the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) from 2018-2020 which advises the UN Secretary General on the annual global UN IGF agenda. Chung heads the Secretariat for the Internet Governance Forum Support Association (IGFSA) which provides support to the global UN IGF and grants seed funding to National, Regional and Youth Initiatives (NRIs). She is also a part of the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) organizing team. She hopes to drive greater participation in the APrIGF Synthesis Document process and believes that this can amplify the Asia Pacific views and contributions on Internet governance.

Chung represents .Asia Registry in the multistakeholder bottom-up policy development processes in the Registry Stakeholder Group (RySG) at ICANN. She previously headed the Secretariat for the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) that oversaw the transfer of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority’s (IANA) stewardship from the US government (NTIA) to the global multistakeholder community.

An avid supporter of innovative technology, Chung has worked on Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) related projects since 2003 and is currently on the ICANN IDN Expedited Policy Development Process (IDN EPDP) which will make policy recommendations on the definition and management of IDN variant Top Level Domains. She supports the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG) to achieve Universal Acceptance of domain names, a foundational requirement for a truly multilingual Internet, one in which users around the world can navigate entirely in local languages.

June LAU

Position: Community Relations & Project Manager
Location: Toronto, Canada

June is the Community Relations & Project Manager with DotAsia Organisation. June is responsible for managing local and Asian wide projects; some include “iCity” which promotes ICT to youths, Asian Film Awards and many more. Alongside, she liaisons with DotAsia’s members and community.

Prior to DotAsia, June has over 10 years of experience in IT supply chain management. She handled many different projects at IBM Canada and Hong Kong. June’s capacities include project management, acquisition management, software system implementation, internal audit control and business development. To name a few, some projects she managed comprise of Elections Canada, IBM/Lenovo acquisition, IBM/Geodis acquisition, and SAP deployment.

June has a Bachelor of Business Management with Distinction from RMIT University in Australia as well as a Hotel & Restaurant Management Diploma with Honors from George Brown College in Canada.

Clement (Stinky) LEONG

Position: Community Development
Location: Hong Kong, China

Clement Leong, more commonly known as “Stinky”, is a passionate esports fan. He plays a supporting role in DotAsia’s various community projects and content creation. Stinky is involved in the DotA 2 esports scene as a tournament organiser, broadcaster and community practice room administrator. He is also a moderator in an unrelated 10 million+ subscriber reddit community. In his free time Stinky enjoys both video and physical games, writing, and 3D animation and looks to applying them in his professional work.

Aaron SP

Position: Director of Communications
Location: Hong Kong

Aaron SP, Director of Communications at DotAsia Organization, is a key player in the marketing, event and entertainment industries with a multitude of experience in terms of strategic partnership, digital marketing, brand marketing, multimedia, event production, as well as artist management and public relations. Her versatile expertise and 20 years of solid experience is an invaluable testimonial of her ongoing engagement in the industry.

Aaron started her career as the PR manager for CROSS, where she garnered a proven track record of brand management background which enabled her to expand her client portfolio to other global brands and later to the entertainment industry.

In her capacity as Director of Communication at DotAsia, Aaron helped to promote and introduce ‘.Asia’ to Asia’s entertainment industry. Through the years, she has worked with a number of prominent Asian artistes, and acted as the manager for Hong Kong artiste Ella Koon. Aaron has also taken part in organizing a series of groundbreaking international concerts with .Asia such as Kenny G, Wonder Girl, Jay Chou, etc, as well as the star-studded Asian Films Awards and even special projects for world-acclaimed martial arts superstar Donnie Yen.

Her recent accomplishment can be recognized in the successful establishment of the 1st and 2nd HK Kids International Film Awards (KIFF) in 2017 and 2018 respectively, representing .Asia as a co-organizer with Hong Kong’s renowned films distribution company Golden Scene.

Kelvin TRUONG

Position: Web Technologist
Location: Toronto, Canada

As a Web Technologist in a rapidly growing company, this graphics-designing snowboarder from Canada has the savoury responsibilities of managing server/audio/visual systems and websites, for DotAsia Organisation. Kelvin’s enthusiasm for technology and problem-solving coupled with a passion for design has allowed him to thrive in this high-octane role.

For over 20 years, Kelvin has held a wide range of technical and creative roles within the Information Technology Industry – having worked in major enterprises such as MOJO Radio Station (AM640), Computer City, UPS, and finally IBM where he led major IT projects for 5 years before moving to Hong Kong where he joined an IT startup firm and eventually joining DotAsia Organisation.

Kelvin holds a Business/Marketing Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and has completed a Web Development program at Centennial College in Toronto, Canada.

Ajitora

Position: Stakeholder Engagement Manager
Location: Hong Kong, China

I am Ajitora, the official Mascot for .Asia

Stakeholder Engagement Manager, that’s fancy for mascot and friendly face here at DotAsia. I was born from the Cyberspace, and my favorite food is definitely spam! I was born in the year of the Dog (go figure) and my favourite book and movie is ‘Life of Pi’.

My name is made of two parts – “Tora” means “tiger” in Japan, where tigers used to roam a long time ago; and “Aji” is a popular name in Asian cultures and a short-form for “Asia”. Together “aji”+”tora” represents both “King of the Cyber Jungle” (insert thunderous ROAR~) and simply “Asia Tiger”.

These are the things I’m interested in, when I’m not working:

I’m more than just a cute face you know, I was appointed as an Ambassador by Wold Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Global Tiger Forum (GTF) in 2016 to help highlight the importance of tiger preservation.
